HSX Series Crossed Roller Bearings Overview

The HSX series features an ultra-thin cross-section with an integral inner ring and split outer ring. For the same shaft diameter, it provides a smaller section than the HRB series. Neither ring has mounting holes, so the bearing is secured by sufficiently rigid flanges and support housings. It is intended for compact precision mechanisms with inner-ring rotation.

Design & Performance Features

  • Cylindrical rollers are alternately arranged at 90°, forming a compact, highly rigid load-carrying structure within an ultra-thin section.
  • A single bearing can accommodate radial loads, bidirectional axial loads and overturning moments.
  • The integral inner ring and split outer ring make the series suitable primarily for precision applications with inner-ring rotation.
  • Compared with the HRB series for the same shaft diameter, HSX offers a smaller cross-section to save installation space.
  • Double-sided seals help reduce contaminant ingress and retain lubricant.

Mounting & Operating Notes

HSX rings have no mounting holes; use sufficiently rigid flanges and support housings to secure the bearing uniformly.

Mating surfaces should provide good flatness, concentricity and finish; avoid uneven clamping that may deform the rings.

Fits, tolerances, tightening sequence, preload, lubrication and operating clearance should be selected according to load, accuracy, speed and temperature conditions.

Typical Applications

Compact high-precision rotary tables and indexing units

Robot joints, rotary units and end effectors

Semiconductor, inspection and automation equipment

Precision medical, optical and measurement instruments

Series & Model Information

The HSX prefix identifies ultra-thin crossed roller bearings. Select the exact model according to bore diameter d, outside diameter D, width B, roller pitch circle diameter dp, basic load ratings, seal arrangement, reference mass and mounting conditions.
