Because the outer ring is split, keep both outer-ring sections correctly aligned and secure them uniformly with a sufficiently rigid housing or flange.

Mating surfaces should provide good flatness, concentricity and finish; avoid uneven clamping that may deform the rings.

Fits, tolerances, tightening sequence, lubrication and operating clearance should be selected according to load, accuracy, speed and temperature conditions.
